Magento: Upgrade via Magento Connect

To upgrade your Magento version use the following steps:

  • First make a fresh backup your database and file system.
  • clear and disable all Magento caches at System > Cache Management:
  • Disable Magento Compiler
  • Navigate to System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect manager, switch to Settings tab
  • Make sure that Preferred state option is set to Stable:
  • Switch to Extensions tab
  • Copy and Paste community/Mage_All_Latest as extension key and click on the Install button:
  • Retuen to Admin to verify that you have upgraded
